Senior Paint / Prep Artist – Feature Film VFX

CINETISM is looking for experienced Senior Paint / Prep Artists to join our team for ongoing feature-film and high-end VFX projects.

We are looking for artists with a strong eye for clean-up, reconstruction, tracking, texture continuity and invisible visual effects.

The best Paint / Prep work should feel like nothing was ever changed.

The Role

As a Senior Paint / Prep Artist, you will be responsible for preparing plates and removing unwanted elements from live-action photography while preserving the original photographic quality of the footage.

You should be comfortable handling complex clean-up work independently and delivering seamless plates ready for compositing.

Responsibilities

• Remove wires, rigs, markers and production equipment
• Perform beauty clean-up and cosmetic fixes
• Remove crew members, reflections and unwanted objects
• Create clean plates
• Reconstruct obscured backgrounds and environments
• Handle frame-by-frame paint work when required
• Perform patching and tracked clean-up
• Correct plate imperfections and continuity issues
• Work with planar, point and camera tracking
• Rebuild texture and detail across moving surfaces
• Handle complex foreground and background reconstruction
• Maintain grain, sharpness and photographic consistency
• Prepare plates for downstream compositing
• Maintain clean and organised scripts
• Respond efficiently to Supervisor and client feedback
• Deliver production-ready shots on schedule

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional Paint / Prep experience
• Strong experience with Nuke
• Strong experience with professional paint and clean-up workflows
• Experience with Silhouette is an advantage
• Excellent understanding of tracking and image reconstruction
• Strong knowledge of grain and image texture
• Good understanding of photography and lens characteristics
• Ability to reconstruct backgrounds convincingly
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently on technically challenging shots
• Experience with feature-film or high-end episodic VFX
• Comfortable working within professional production deadlines
