Senior Matchmove Artist – Feature Film VFX

CINETISM is looking for experienced Senior Matchmove Artists to join our team for ongoing feature-film and high-end VFX work.

We are looking for artists with a strong understanding of camera tracking, object tracking, lens distortion, survey data and real-world camera behaviour who can deliver accurate, production-ready matchmove setups.

The Role

As a Senior Matchmove Artist, you will be responsible for recreating live-action camera movement and object motion in 3D space so CG elements can be integrated accurately into production footage.

You should be comfortable solving technically challenging shots independently and delivering clean scenes that can move efficiently into layout, animation, FX and lighting.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex 3D camera tracks from live-action plates
• Perform object and geometry tracking
• Reconstruct basic scene geometry where required
• Calculate and manage lens distortion
• Handle variable focal length and challenging camera moves
• Work with survey data, camera reports and reference photography
• Align tracked cameras accurately to production environments
• Create accurate witness-camera or secondary-camera setups when required
• Perform basic rotomation for tracking and camera-solving purposes
• Maintain correct scale, orientation and coordinate systems
• Deliver clean and production-ready scenes
• Troubleshoot difficult or low-parallax shots
• Respond efficiently to Supervisor and client feedback
• Maintain consistency across shots and sequences

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional VFX Matchmove experience
• Strong experience with professional camera-tracking software
• Experience with 3DEqualizer preferred
• Strong understanding of camera optics and photography
• Excellent knowledge of lens distortion
• Strong understanding of focal length, filmback and camera parameters
• Experience with object tracking and geometry-based solving
• Good understanding of Maya
• Ability to analyse difficult plates and determine the best tracking approach
• Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
• Comfortable working within an established VFX pipeline
